Fincantieri, revenues rise to 1.7 billion: focus on technologies - Corriere.it

The board of directors of Fincantieri chaired by general Claudio Graziano approved the data for the first quarter. Numbers in line with forecasts that allow CEO Pierroberto Folgiero to look at the current year with optimism: «The expected operating performance for the year will allow us to consolidate revenues and margins which, combined with a robust order book and a improving ebitda, confirm that the company is solid in the traditional business and projected on new technologies».

The quarter

Revenues amounted to 1.76 billion, an increase of 4.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022. The group’s EBITDA amounted to 87 million (118 million in the first quarter of 2022), affected by the increase in the prices of raw materials, but the EBITDA margin reached 4.9%, an improvement compared to 2022 (3%). The boost to growth came in particular from the offshore sector and special vessels, with 238 million in revenues equal to an increase of 31%, which benefits from the growing contribution of units for the offshore wind sector which are a bit the synthesis of the new ones technologies to which Folgiero refers. The turnover of the shipbuilding sector was 1.4 billion, distributed on the cruise ship business (48% of revenues), to which the 22 billion backlog contributes, and on the naval ship business (25%), engaged in the program renewal of the Navy fleet.
