Over 50 years of the company have taught me the value of sharing and collaboration. the secret of Giovanni Fileni, president of the food group of the same name: a secret that led him to receive the recognition of Italian excellences, prize now in its sixth edition conceived by Pietro Muscari (together with Giovanni Fileni also Al Bano, Giusy Versace, Bruno Vespa and other illustrious names have been awarded). All stories of courage, of people who have managed to raise the name of Italy by associating it with food production, journalism, sport, etc. The Italian Excellences, in fact.

Not just mine – explained Giovanni Fileni – but also and above all that of the whole great team that helps me every day to make the group an example ofethical, sustainable and future-oriented entrepreneurship. the beauty of Italy, capable of finding resources, energy and ideas in every area. When we talk about Fileni we are talking about meat, chicken breeding: it seems simple, instead declined by the Marche group it becomes an excellence and turns into a reality with 2 thousand employees capable of becoming the first Italian and European producer of poultry meat from organic farming. Numbers that tell a healthy production, growing and ready for the future but above all a story made up of men, women and ideas. The company – he says Roberta Fileni, daughter of Giovanni and vice president of the group – born in the 1960s in Cingoli, in the province of Macerata. My father was a motorcycle mechanic and was responsible for delivering chickens to families in the city on weekends. it all started from there: from families, he moved on to supply shops, then he started to build his own herd and now we are here. 530 million in annual turnover, 300 farms (mainly in the Marche and Liguria) and about one million chickens slaughtered per week.

From craftsmanship to industry, to an international group. How much made in Italy has followed this path that has led us, as a nation, to become an economic power. However, few companies have been able to grow by always looking at sustainability: Since 2022 the Fileni group B-Corp certified, the first in the world in the meat sector – explains Roberta Fileni -. A recognition obtained only by those companies that work according to the highest standards of social and environmental performance, which are committed to building a more inclusive society, being promoters of a sustainable economy, respectful of people, animals and nature. Translated into practice, Fileni trades chickens, of course, but she also cultivates organic cereals which will later become the feed for her animals. So that Fileni chicken that we find at the supermarket – concludes Roberta Fileni – ate certified organic cereals grown in Italy.
