A national seminar, sponsored by the Senate and the Vice President Anna Russomandoto celebrate 50 years of Federconfidi, the federation that brings together the sixteen Confidi of the Confindustria area. The role of the Confidi assumes centrality in supporting businesses – said Russomando – with guarantees that act as a multiplier of the resources themselves, preventing companies from depressing business decisions, first due to Covid, now due to inflation, the rise in interest rates, the crisis and energy costs».

After the institutional greetings of the vice president of the Senate, the president of Federconfidi, the entrepreneur from Campania, took the floor Rosario Caputo, which highlighted the positive signals received from politics and institutions and the growing attention dedicated to the role that the Confidi can play in this delicate moment and how, thanks to the initiatives of the Parliament, introduced in the Relaunch Decree of May 2020, the Confidi have today greater operations than in the past and can give direct support to companies through the disbursement of direct loans. In fact, as at 31 December 2021, these loans amounted to 275 million euros, with a growth trend of more than 62% compared to the value recorded as at 31 December 2020 of around 170 million euros.

Caputo highlighted the need to set up a Fondo for access to credit of small and medium enterprises, assuming that «this fund can be managed directly by the Confidi system to allow those companies, with low ratings and more difficult to bank, to be able to take advantage of a “complementary” financial channel, enhancing the primordial mission of the Confidi della territorial proximity and direct knowledge of companies”. Furthermore, the President of Federconfidi drew attention to the need for one new Framework Law, which, twenty years after the last provision approved in Parliament, in the field of Confidi, takes into account the many changes that have affected the credit and guarantee market. «Now more than ever – concluded Caputo – the time has come for choices. In this context, the Federation has delegated to Assoconfidi the role of interlocutor of the system’s requests, so that it promotes a new and modern law, capable of assuring us a worthy and articulated role in the credit interest of mSMEs».
