FdI and Lega duel for the water emergency commissioner. At 14 the control room

The water emergency faces the reasons for the dispute between the Lega and FdI. It is a fracture that divides on the one hand the idea that a single commissioner is needed to manage all the nodes concerning drought – FdI area -, and on the other the belief that a control room at the Ministry of Transport – Lega area is preferable . The debate will take place today at 2 pm in Palazzo Chigiwhen all the competent ministers (but probably not the prime minister) will meet for an emergency control room, also in view of the Acqua decree.

“It must see the light by March,” said the infrastructure minister and deputy prime minister, Matthew Salvini. His watchword is speed, his right-hand man in this majority challenge is the undersecretary Alexander Morelli. The Carroccio wants everything to be delegated to the ministry led by the deputy prime minister, and that the commissioners, who must be more than one, are instead in charge of the various critical areas. Yes, because for Salvini a super partes figure would be in conflict with the battle for autonomy – signed by the Northern League – which is being waged in Parliament.

But the president Giorgia Meloni she sees it differently and next to her are the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida and the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano, which already on the immigration dossier as well as on that of the appointments has aroused some annoyances in the Northern League leader. The top government officials prefer a super commissioner, possibly external to politics: Meloni’s intention is to fish in universities, as was said recently on these pages. But for the prime minister and her cronies the road to the new commissioner has already been obstructed, to the point of getting stuck in the missed appointment during last week’s CDM.
