Two very different yet equal stories. The first comes from Lake Garda. A few days ago, in Malcesine, on the Veronese side, a bottle with a sheet of paper washed up on the beach. No treasure map or message from desperate castaways on a deserted island (in Garda, later…) but a little letter in German, written in the neat handwriting that evidently they still teach there at school. “Dear Lake Garda, With this message in a bottle we wish our families, friends and ourselves to always stay happy and healthy. Dear Lake Garda, stay as beautiful and clear as today”. The date follows, August 9, 2012, and the signature, Sabrina and Dennis (in short, the letter remained afloat for ten years, just a little longer than it takes to arrive, in Italy, for an envelope sent by post…).
