To the Ministers of Tourism, Daniela Santanch, for Sea Policies, Nello Musumeci, and the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Edoardo Rixi, Bonomi asked for something trivial, but evidently not taken for granted: to simplify the bureaucratic procedures that often generate frustrating situations for businesses. Emphasizing that the country is experiencing a difficult and uncertain moment, that the skyrocketing energy costs are having a heavy impact on businesses and families, the president of Confindustria insisted on the need to defend and strengthen our industry as bills of national security. The Pnrr – he added – is an opportunity that we cannot afford to waste: I say it clearly: it is no longer the time to haggle, we have to unload the projects.

The president of Confindustria Nautica takes the same tone: The prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, says: let those who produce work. Here we are, we are here, we have always been here and now that the sectors that support Italy are freed from the bonds and left to run. To the politicians – added Cecchi – I say it clearly: we will brand you like a man and we will start from today. We will do this so that: the political vision always prevails over the bureaucratic impasse; the Government’s promise to make the country grow is translated into concrete actions; above all, so that the case of refusal of our requests for compliance with competing countries is thoroughly and technically motivated by the competent administrations. And again: In a complex, articulated and pressured world like today’s, it is no longer acceptable to see French, Croatian, Maltese and – outside the EU – British governments and administrations always alongside our competitors, while ours are looking for quibbles, as if they were mushrooms.

A first response came from Musumeci: We have no intention of working for our neighbors, with whom we have good relations but remain close. It must be clarified once and for all – she insisted – that the longer those yachts are, the more they spend and bring money into the coffers of the country.
Rixi instead he announced the implementation of the new simplified professional title of pleasure navigation officer, aligning it with international legislation and promised a decisive intervention to launch – with the agreement of the other 13 ministries involved – the implementing regulation of the Nautical Code.

The success of the Genoa Motor Show

The meeting was also presented with the survey on satisfaction with the 62nd Genoa Boat Show, created by GRS Research & Strategy, an independent analysis agency on major events, active in monitoring over 1,000 international fairs. The main indices showed that last September’s edition was the best since 2016 – the year in which the collaboration with GRS began – far exceeding the international benchmark indicators. The quality of the visitors came first in terms of exhibitor satisfaction, highlighting the Exhibition’s ability to evolve and be able to respond to market needs.
