“Everyone for the Earth”, the exhibition at the Green&Blue Festival (and your story)

Together with Illustri* we have gathered a representation of the best illustrative scene in our country, to reflect on climate change through the colorful gaze of their art. All for the Earth in fact it wants to become a huge counter-narrative to remove the rhetoric of the apocalypse from environmental urgencies. Here are the colors, the patterns, the visions of those who imagine a world where ecosystems are such because they contemplate relationships with human beings and between human beings. It’s not a competition for the most beautiful illustration, but a great collective work that uses the poetics of drawing to offer visitors a set of stories with which to engage their imagination.
Illustrators for the environment the exhibition
Illustri is the reference point of Italian illustration. Here are some of the works that will be on display in Milan, in the installation created at BAM, Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano to tell what we are doing and the future we would like to build for a better world. Because “Everyone for the Earth” really means everyone, with stories, words, photographs, videos and even illustrations.
Each work is the beginning of a story and does not represent the end of our days on Earth. That already happens in dystopias, in scenarios that use fear to generate new behaviors. And instead the new behaviors have already been taking place for years: there are thousands, hundreds of thousands, the stories of those who didn’t wait for a pandemic to discover the formidable interconnection between man and the natural environment. If it is true that the earth is for everyone, as the title of the event hosting this exhibition says, then we must also know the communities, families, entire neighborhoods, schools, shopkeepers, companies, artisans, villages, single people, sports teams who do not wait for laws or commandments: they simply act.

This exhibition is a small piece of this huge choral story, where the illustrations are added to the words, photos, videos, podcasts, the many stories told by as many people as possible, by everyone. “Everyone for the Earth”, in fact.
