Italy won the gold medal in men’s team foil at the European Games in Poland. At the Tauron Arena in Krakow, the Azzurri Daniele Garozzo, Filippo Macchi, Tommaso Marini and Alessio Foconi, led by coach Stefano Cerioni, prevailed by beating France 45-39 in the final. For the Italia Team, which leads the medal table, it is today’s third medal at the European Games after the silver won by Marco Bruno in compound archery.

Now the balance in Poland is 71 medals: 22 gold, 22 silver and 27 bronze. For Italy in fencing it is the second medal today after the bronze one conquered by the blues of the sword, the fourth in the team trials – which also assign important points for qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics – in the continental event. The Italian foil instead celebrates the second gold here in Poland after the one won yesterday by the Azzurri, again against France. Also yesterday, the Azzurri of the men’s saber (silver) also took the podium.
