Elly Schlein queen of social media: on the day of the parade in Florence she beats everyone for liking

Elly Schlein in her first week as secretary of the Democratic Party passes the test of social media. From Twitter to Instagram via Facebook, the new leader is the name around which most discussions, comparisons, comments are articulated. So it’s not just a simple count of “likes”. The reasoning is more complex and in the end the mirror of a great debut.

To support it, data and articulated graphics in hand, is the visual communication and strategic marketing company “Arcadia” by Domenico Giordano. Her analysis starts precisely from the fact that the new secretary of the Democratic Party has not yet taken care to replace her title from “candidate” to secretary of the Democratic Party.

But let’s see the results. Elly Schlein on Twitter has 245,000 followers and has seen them increase by 25,000 or about 10 percent in recent days. Yesterday, on the day of the Florence demonstration, the new secretary dominated Giuseppe Conte in what is defined on social networks as “engagement”, that is, involvement. In fact, the leader of the Five Stars remains at 41 percent while Schlein is at 58.84. That is to say that people have decided to comment and share the comments of the secretary of the Democratic Party more. And this despite the fact that Conte has collected twice as many mentions (7,640 against 4,110 for Schlein).

But it is the Instagram account @ellyesse that grows the most, with 100,000 new followers in the last week. Even if her Twitter and Facebook accounts are certainly not bad: the first with a plus 25 K and the second with a growth of 34 K. It is still a figure that is worth analyzing because on Instagrma Schlein gets almost double of the “reactions” he collects on FB despite the fact that the fandom (community of fans who share a common interest) is more restricted.

These good results – continues the «Arcadia» study – were achieved despite the fact that in the last 90 days Schlein has spent «just» 7,090 euros on the campaign for the national secretariat of the Democratic Party.

And we are at the icing on the social recognition cake. With the nominative keyword of the new Dem secretary, Twitter’s speech share has always been high but in the last 30 days it has reached 29 percent. Schlein has in fact totaled over 72,000 mentions out of a good 45,000 in the last week.
