The Banca Sella Board of Directors has approved the draft financial statements as at 31 December 2022, confirming the preliminary results communicated on 10 February, and will propose to the Shareholders’ Meeting the distribution of a dividend of 0.0439 euro per share a total of 29.3 million euros, equal to 40% of the profit.

Net profit of 73.3 million euros

Banca Sella closed 2022 with a net profit of 73.3 million euros, up 77.3% compared to the 41.4 million euros of the previous year. The traditional capital solidity further strengthened, with the Cet1 at 18.63% and the Total Capital Ratio at 21.16% (they were 15.88% and 19.95%). The indicators relating to liquidity are also positive: the LCR index equals 179.8%, while the NSFR index equals 145.7% (for both, the minimum limits set are equal to 100%). Loans increased by 7.7% reaching 9.1 billion euro. Global net inflows were positive by €1.4 billion, thanks to direct inflows of €0.3 billion and indirect inflows of €1.1 billion. Global deposits at market value amounted to 31.5 billion euro, down by 5.7% due to the 2.7 billion euro decrease in the value of securities prices following the downturn in the markets. The development of the intermediation margin was particularly positive (+21.9% to 494.7 million euro) thanks to the growth of the interest margin (+47.8% to 233.1 million euro), the increase in net revenues from services (+5.4% to 242.7 million euro) and to the increase in the net result from financial activities (+5.9% to 18.9 million euro).

Diversified business model

The good performance of the bank is part of the positive results obtained by the Sella group which confirm the soundness of the development strategy based on a diversified business model, linked both to traditional sectors of activity and to more innovative ones, and focused on the quality of personal relationship to provide households and businesses with dedicated advisory services, as well as the promotion of an open financial ecosystem to give effective responses to customer needs and have a positive impact on the economy and society.

Consolidated net profit of 91.9 million

The Sella group closed the year with a consolidated net profit of 91.9 million euros, up on the 56 million euros of the previous year without considering non-recurring items. In fact, in 2021, as a result of the capital gain obtained from the strategic joint venture transaction in Hype with illimity bank, the net profit was a total of 108.3 million euro. The group achieved the best result ever in the intermediation margin (857.9 million euros, +17.9%), with growth in almost all of its components. Capital solidity further strengthened, with the Cet1 at 13.21% and the Total Capital Ratio at 15.12% (at the end of 2021 they were 12.28% and 14.19% respectively). The LCR index equals 166.7%, while the NSFR index equals 132.8%.
