They have a candidate and yesterday he spoke in the direction of relaunching the reasons for the original Democratic Party, that of 2007 by Veltroni: Dario Nardella. He would be an insidious opponent for Bonaccini, because even the mayor of Florence has a part of the local administrators on his side. The first of them to be interested in the Nardella hypothesis was Beppe Sala a few days ago. In his speech, of course, Nardella did not discover the cards (after all, no one did yesterday) but launched an attack on the “self-nominations” and everyone interpreted those words as a gauntlet to the “governor”, who however he did not flinch because he seems to want to keep away from Rome and its politics.

The “big center”, as this piece of the Democratic Party has been renamed, relies on the fact that eventually the reformist base could converge on Nardella’s candidacy. So far the former Renzians continue to say no, also because they also charge the mayor of Florence with the exclusion from the pd lists of Luca Lotti. But there is not only the very chair of the secretariat. There are other key places on which the Democratic Party must agree well first. The vice presidents of the Chamber and Senate. The first could go to Andrea Orlando or Debora Serracchiani. And then there are the group presidencies. Simona Malpezzi should be reconfirmed at Palazzo Madama.
