According to the latest dossier on the right to university study (DSU) of the Ministry of University and Research, published on 14 April 2023, as of 1 November 2022, the accommodation places made available by regional bodies for the DSU are 40,069. of which 1,075 temporarily unavailable. Pnrr
With the 960 million provided for by the Pnrr, a further 60,000 beds will be created by 2026, with the Ministry’s aim of bringing the coverage rate to around 20%, in line with European averages. An initial intervention has already been carried out and financed the creation of beds through long-term purchase or leasing procedures. With 300 million euros divided into two notices, adopted in August and December 2022, 8,581 additional bed places were created, of which 7,524 places already assigned to university students. A second intervention, foreseen by the Pnrr and which foresees the entry of private operators into the market, foresees an investment of 660 million euros to create at least 52,500 beds.
