Increases in the bank: accounts by type and the convenience of the web

In the last year the costs of traditional accounts in the most popular banks increased by 8.7%, those of online accounts they rose by an average of 2.2%. The price increases particularly affected young people with average use of the bank (+10%), a category so far courted, but also pensioners (+7.9%) and families (+8.1%). Between the cheapest bill and the most expensive, the difference is close to 200 euros. The increase partly reflects inflation, which was 10.1% year-on-year in January. Not (yet) the rate decisions of the European Central Bank.
These are the results of the latest analysis of Other consumption for L’Economics of the Corriere della Sera which he compared the Icc (Indicator of total annual costs, standard, parameters of the Bank of Italy) of 31 January with those of 6 February 2022 in the historic panel of its database.

«2023 started badly – says Anna Vizzari, senior economist of Altroconsumo -. The costs rise due to the increase in fees, on the account and on the payment cards. And lending rates, as we expected, despite the premises, are still not adjusting to ECB variations».
