The former prime minister had denounced chef Vissani who on TV had compared him to the Nazi leader. A week ago the same judge condemned Renzi and acquitted Travaglio

For the second time within a week the leader of Italia Viva Matteo Renzi seen give wrong in a defamation suit. And this time too, it was the state to reject the requests of the former prime minister the judge herself, Susanna Zandaof the civil court of Florence, a magistrate who has already leapt to the fore for his no vax positions. In the first case, Renzi had denounced the director of the daily newspaper Marco Travaglio to whom the judge had awarded compensation of 42,000 euros. This time the judge was of the opinion that compare Renzi to Hitler critical politics.

This time the chef Giancarlo Vissani had been brought before the court . The latter, the day after the 2018 general election, when the Democratic Party, led by Renzi, had fallen from 40 to 18%, had compared the then secretary to Hitler. Vissani intervening in the television broadcast Fifth Column on Rete 4conducted by the journalist Paolo Del Debbio, expressed himself on the results of the political elections of the previous March 4, in this way: Renzi did worse than Hitler. Nobody did it worse than Hitler, he did it!. Immediately after the comments of the study on the combination with Hitler, the chef added: Why not? He destroyed a party, brought it to less than 19%.

Renzi had asked, in addition to the condemnation of Vissani a compensation of 430,000 euros. Judge Zanda has acquitted Vissani, considering his expression a political critique albeit with strong and pungent tones. The juxtaposition of the destruction of the democratic party which goes from 40% to less than 19% to the figure of Hitler… however strong and transmodant – writes the judge in the sentence – nonetheless appears tolinked to that certain exceptional historical fact of the 2018 election, which expresses a hemorrhage of consensus the likes of which had not been seen for many years; the chef’s opinion… was not suitable for its entire content, to damage Renzi’s reputation, because the sense of the approach to Hitler had been explained contextually by Vissani in terms of a striking massacre of votes and not of human beings.

As mentioned, the same judge Susanna Zampa last week had rejected a compensation claim made by Renzi against Travaglio; the latter had appeared in a TV connection having behind his back a roll of toilet paper with the face of the leader of Italia Viva. only satire had established the judicial verdict. Reversing the request, the judge had sentenced Renzi to pay 42,000 euros in compensation to the journalist.

Susanna Zanda had become champion of the no vax movement following two measures with which he had reinstated a psychologist who had refused to get vaccinated during the pandemic. After the experience of Nazi-fascism – the judge had written – it does not allow for the sacrifice of the single individual for a real or supposed collective interest, nor does it allow fori subject him to invasive medical trials of the personwithout your free and informed consent. And again: Not even a single European citizen can therefore be sacrificed for one medical experimentation, or for other reasons, because human dignity is inviolable. In the provision you went so far as to argue that a phenomenon opposite to what you wanted to achieve was caused, i.e. a spread of the infection with the formation of multiple viral variants and the numerical prevalence of infections and deaths among those vaccinated with three doses.
