The governor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, writes to the premier as president of the Conference of Regions. On Tuesday, the head of government will meet with opposition leaders to present hypotheses for institutional reforms

Regions and Provinces also met on the reforms. This is in summary the invitation extended to the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, by the president of the Conference of Regions, the governor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga.

Expressing satisfaction with the start of reflections on the issue of institutional reforms – reads the letter sent by Fedriga to Palazzo Chigi – I wish to represent them immediately the willingness of the Regions and autonomous Provinces to contribute proactively to this process and, therefore, I am asking you for a meeting with the Conference.




For the regional system, for some time, the need to share paths aimed at overcoming the critical issues that cyclically affect the institutional system has been felt and, in particular, local authorities, whose functions have a more direct impact on the life of citizens and businesses – we read again -. This is also to face the extraordinary challenges that await the country in the best possible way, creating a new season in which to restore opportunities to citizens. A goal for which the contribution of all the constituent bodies of the Republic will be necessary, starting from the Regions and the autonomous Provinces, so that the center and the periphery act for a common commitment in the closest collaboration.

The invitation of Fedriga comes to the government on the eve of an important step in the path of institutional reforms which are among the objectives of the Meloni executive. Indeed, Tuesday the Prime Minister will meet the representatives of the opposition forces
to illustrate to them the hypotheses of the path on the reforms that the government intends to undertake as regards Autonomies, presidentialism, the premiership and Rome Capital. Face to face, with Meloni, the presence of the minister for reforms Casellati, the deputy prime ministers Tajani and Salvini, the undersecretaries to the presidency of the council, Mantovano and Fazzolari, the minister for relations with parliament, Ciriani and the legal adviser, Saverio Marini are expected.
