Italian industry wants to change, but only partially succeeds. The economic and political debate has focused on the political, social, cultural environment, but there are equally important factors of internal origin. It is the result of a survey conducted on a wide range of large and small companies from Porsche Consulting German consultancy company associated with the Stuttgart car company. The study will be published in a couple of weeks, but the conclusions were anticipated yesterday and reserve many surprises. 79% of companies say they are in the process of transforming, but only 53% make it; mostly they are the larger ones. Success is the result of clear objectives and a company manager at the helm. Among the critical elements is precisely the lack of competent leaders, while the very strong resistance to change is emerging in a widespread, one might say transversal way, even in the largest companies. The smaller ones look above all at improving the product and the production process, however they are reluctant to make a strategic leap; for the big ones it’s about tackling the digital transition and sustainability.
