Castelfranco Veneto, Northern League mayor Marcon resigns and attacks: "The party and the councilors have turned my dream into a nightmare"

“Someone have killed a dream, they have turned it into a nightmare for me”. Thus begins the J’accuse with which the mayor of Castelfranco Veneto, Stephen Marcon, he resigned as mayor. A very harsh post, published on Facebook, with which Marcon points the finger at his colleagues in the junta and the League, councilors who “work a couple of hours a week, without scruple, compared to the allowance they get”. Not only. The former mayor of the North speaks of “advisers who create the mixed group and condition the administrative activity while remaining Northern League members”. In short, a climate of distrust to which Marcon did not want to succumb and, for this reason, in recent days he has decided to leave his office by depositing his resignation with the Town Hall.

The former mayor of the Treviso city is just yet another of the Northern League administrators of Castelfranco Veneto who has said goodbye to his political career, either because he is discouraged or because he is enraged against the party (which many have chosen to abandon). “It is a widespread sport – Marcon admits – to mock the members of the junta to get them to resign”. In short, he writes in the post, “Castelfranco Veneto does not deserve to be bound by certain figures who keep the administration in check for purely personal reasons. And neither is the province of Treviso”. Province in which, in the same hours in which the Northern League resigned, he was appointed commissioner Alberto Stefaniopposed by Marcon, who also chose to resign from the institution.

Harsh words, to which the former mayor adds a bitter conclusion in which, thanking loyal collaborators, he also expresses gratitude “for those who have not been, but only out of duty”. A farewell that feeds the divisions within the League in Veneto.
