Cash ceiling of 5 thousand euros

The current government has announced an increase in the ceiling on the use of cash, thus going against the trend with the work of its predecessors, who have increasingly favored digital payments not only with a lowering of the threshold but also with the introduction of obligations and sanctions. At the moment the limit set at 2 thousand euros and the former premier Mario Draghi had expressed his intention to bring it down further to a thousand starting from 2023. But the executive of Giorgia Meloni, with the next budget law, will probably raise it to 5 thousand euros. The context, however, is broader: there are other more targeted measures to regulate banknote payments. From the threshold of 15 thousand euros for foreign tourists to talking transfers for deductions, let’s see which ones.
