“This morning we participated in the meeting organized in the Sala della Regina of the Chamber of Deputies by the Animenta Association on the occasion of the XII National Day of the Lilac Bow for the fight against eating disorders”. This was written in a note by Maurizio Casasco, deputy of Forza Italia and president of the Italian and European sports medicine federation, and Raffaele Nevi, group leader of Forza Italia in the Agriculture commission in Montecitorio and agriculture manager of the blue party. “The goal of the day – they continue – is to raise public awareness of a phenomenon that involves three million Italian teenagers. Eating disorders cannot and must not be underestimated: if not diagnosed and treated promptly, they can in fact cause serious health problems. You can heal, this must be the message, but above all these ailments can often be prevented by catching the alarm bells: dedicating time to our kids, paying attention to their words and their silences. : for our part, we are committed to keeping the attention high on the issue”.

“We will work together with Animenta and the other institutions so that this no longer remains a silent epidemic. It is necessary to correctly inform families, raise awareness of correct nutrition, offer treatments, psychological support and prevention accessible to all. An example to follow is that of Lombardy Region: as Simona Tironi, councilor for education, training and work explained today, it is the only region to have a law to prevent and cure nutrition and eating disorders, promoted by her in the last legislature. we really want to tackle the phenomenon and preserve our young people, legislative initiatives like this must be extended to the whole national territory”, conclude Casasco and Nevi.
