The former director of Customs and councilor in Calabria is under investigation for alleged favors to the entrepreneur and former Northern League deputy Gianluca Pini

The Freedom Court of Bologna has canceled the precautionary custody order, issued by the Gip of Forlì, for the former director of Customs and councilor in Calabria Marcello Minenna. The judges, after the appeal of the defense (lawyers Gianluca Tognozzi and Roberto D’Atri) therefore ordered the immediate release from house arrest, to which he had been subjected since 22 June. He had been arrested as part of the investigation into a millionaire scam on masks in the early days of Covid.

Minenna is under investigation for alleged favors to the entrepreneur and former Northern League deputy Gianluca Pini. According to the Forlì public prosecutor’s office, between Minenna and Pini there would have been a “pactum sceleris”, a true pact with an exchange of favours: Pini had promised Minenna to accredit him within the League so that he would be considered a man of that party and promised the confirmation of the appointment as director of the Customs Agency following the change of government.
