There are 700,000 Lombards called to the polls on Sunday 14 and Monday 15 May. As many as 106 municipalities are involved, including two provincial capitals. For the rest, there are ten administrations with more than 15,000 inhabitants undergoing renewal, concentrated in two provinces: in Milan and in Monza Brianza.

To Arese, a municipality led for ten years by Michela Palestra who in February was elected to the Regional Council on the civic list that supported Pierfrancesco Majorino in the Regionals, the current Deputy Mayor Luca Nuvoli is trying to get elected for the centre-left. The challenge is with Giovanni Congi, supported by Lega and Fratelli d’Italia, and Roberta Tellini, exponent of the alliance formed by Forza Italia and Lombardia Migliore – Letizia Moratti

Three-way challenge also a Bareggio. Linda Colombo, supported by the centre-right, runs for an encore. TO Cinisello Balsamo the race is at five. Giacomo Ghilardi, a centre-right exponent, runs for reconfirmation against Luca Ghezzi, supported by a centre-left alliance and Movimento 5 Stelle, Giuseppina Gentile of the Third Pole, Roberto Mastromatteo of the civic list “Our City” and Sergio Agrello of the civic list ” Wake up Italy”.

TO Cologno Monzese, a municipality led by the extraordinary Commissioner following the non-approval of the management report for the 2021 financial year, the challenge is four and the center-right runs divided. Stefano Zanelli is supported by the centre-left coalition and the 5 Star Movement, Giuseppe Di Bari, supported by the Brothers of Italy, Forza Italia, the Unione di centro and Cologno in the heart, Dania Perego of the Lega and Angelo Rocchi, former mayor of the Lega is supported by the civic list “Avanti” and from Us Moderates.

His opponents are Fabio Iannotta, supported by the centre-right, Antonio Zantonini for the Movimento 5 Stelle and the civic list “Left for an ecological and supportive Gorgonzola” and Matteo Pedercini from the civic list “Progetto Uniti per Fare”.

In Brianza, there are four municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants called to vote. TO Nova Milanese the mayor to Fabrizio Pagani, supported by the centre-left aims to be re-elected. The other two candidates are Elena Maggi, supported by the centre-right, and Andrea Romano from the civic list “Noi con Andrea Romano Sindaco”.

Also to Seregno the outgoing mayor runs for reconfirmation: Alberto Rossi, supported by the center-left, challenges Giacinto Mariani, former mayor for two terms, supported by the center-right, Luca Colombo of the Movimento 5 Stelle, Tiziano Mariani of Lombardia Migliore – Letizia Moratti and Norberto Riva, exponent by Italexit.
