“Borgonovo is gay”: the outing of Parente and the defense of La Russa. The journalist: “My business” – Corriere.it

The writer Massimiliano Parente, via social media, reveals with these words what the journalist’s sexual orientation would be. It is not the first time that the writer has come out regarding the deputy director of the newspaper directed by Maurizio Belpietro. In the past, Parente had made further posts, which however had not caused a great stir.

This time, however, it went differently: and the president of the Senate intervened directly in defense of Borgonovo: «I’m zero interested in the sleazy attempt to hit Francesco Borgonovo who doesn’t have to account to anyone for his life – writes Ignazio La Russa on Twitter -. My fraternal embrace and my sincere esteem go to him”.

The Deputy Director of The truthcontacted by Courier, does not hide his displeasure at this affair and prefers low tones: “I’m used to discussing journalism and ideas, not personal issues – he explains -. I don’t think there’s any need to give further publicity to something that doesn’t deserve it. I don’t think it was really necessary. It’s my business, and it’s mine.” And then: «Should I file a complaint? I would like to move on.”

What Parente did, according to the Cassation, could also be configured as a crime. The Supreme Court, with sentence n. 30369 of 24 July 2012, had already sentenced a journalist who in an article revealed the sexual orientation of a person without the consent of the same and “in the absence of public interest in the news”.
