Berlusconi’s medical bulletin from San Raffaele: “It’s improving”

“In the last 72 hours there has been a further constant improvement in respiratory and renal function, with an effective containment of leukocytosis and the inflammatory syndrome. The overall clinical picture indicates the continuation of treatment in an intensive care unit”: with this bulletin, the third from the beginning of the hospitalization, the doctors of the San Raffaele Alberto Zangrillo and Fabio Ciceri explain current health conditions of Forza Italia leader Silvio Berlusconi.

For Berlusconi, therefore, the treatments that began on Wednesday of last week continue, when emergency hospitalization was required for pneumonia linked to leukemia chronic myelomonocytic disease of which – as it became known only following hospitalization – he has been suffering for some time.

Today’s is the third bulletin (the second was announced on Easter Monday) since he entered the intensive care unit of the Milanese hospital. A little over a week ago, accompanied by his partner Marta Fascina, he had arrived in very delicate conditions, precisely because of the pneumonia that had struck him. Immediately the doctors – his personal doctor Zangrillo and the head of Hematology Ciceri – had started treatment, including chemotherapy. Hence the decision to keep him in an environment that is as protected as possible, such as that of intensive care. Where, according to today’s news, the elderly ex prime minister will still have to stay to recover and get out of the critical situation that had affected the respiratory and renal systems.

These days, in addition to his partner, the blue deputy Fascina, his five children and longtime friends constantly alternate with him.
