The doorman and his partner awakened, tied up and immobilized by robbers in their villa in Paris. The bandits blocked the caretaker and broke into the house. The former Milan player, injured in the head, had tried to react. Booty of 500 thousand euros

Two head injuries, jewels and other valuables stolen for half a million euros, and ten minutes of terror for Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner Alessia Elefante, who remained unscathed, who suffered a robbery while they were sleeping in their apartment on avenue Montaigne, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, one of the richest and theoretically safest districts of the French capital, not far from the Elysée. The 24-year-old Italian goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain and his partner were robbed around 3:10 in the night between Thursday and Friday. Some bandits immobilized the caretaker of the building, entered the apartment and then the bedroom and tied both at gunpoint. They beat Donnarumma, who allegedly tried to fight back by hitting him on the headand then they took all the valuables in the house: jewellery, bags and watches for 500 thousand euros.

The alarm

After the criminals fled, Donnarumma and his partner managed to free themselves and around 3.20 am they reached a nearby hotel where they raised the alarm. Police cars arrived immediately and an ambulance took both of them in shock to the hospital. Gianluigi Donnarumma and interior designer Alessia Elefante, 25, both originally from Castellammare di Stabia near Naples, have been together for seven years. Yesterday afternoon the Paris Saint-Germain players were called up by the new coach Luis Enrique for the first friendly match of the season in the new Poissy training ground, against the team from Le Havre (match won 2 – 0), but Donnarumma did not take the field. His place was taken by Keylor Navas, who has just returned to PSG, and by the other goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier. The fourth goalkeeper Sergio Rico is still recovering from the serious accident he suffered months ago in Spain, and Sergio Rico, Donnarumma’s neighbor, was himself the victim in a robbery at his house last autumn and caught the thief returning from the match against Auxerre, the last one in the league before the World Cup. On that occasion Rico tried to stop the thief who managed to escape.

Previous

Many Paris Saint-Germain players have been targeted by robbers in recent years: Presnel Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Angel Di Maria, Dani Alves, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Mauro Icardi. In January, the Criminal Court of Versailles convicted two men of burglarizing the family home of PSG Brazilian captain Marquinhos in March 2021 in the Yvelines. At the time, Paris Saint-Germain had increased security measures in front of their players’ residences. The problem of security, in villas outside Paris but also in the center, it raises concerns also in view of next summer’s Olympics.

“Gianluigi and his partner are in shock from what happened but do everything to go through this terrible ordeal as best as possible – says a statement from Team Raiola following Donnarumma -, and collaborate with the police”. The goalkeeper of the national team should still participate in PSG’s trip to Japan and South Korea which begins today.
