Annunziata-Roccella, clash on surrogacy. The right: “Shame”

A somewhat strong expression, bright tones and two opposing visions of the world aired yesterday at Mezz’Ora in più, the program hosted by Lucia Annunziata. The moment of greatest tension comes at the end of the interview, when the Minister for Equal Opportunities Eugenia Roccella reiterates her opposition to surrogacy. “Politics serves to build a model for the future,” she says.

And, immediately afterwards, he underlines: “The problem is whether or not we accept the market for maternity and paternity for children”. It is a sentence that she has uttered several times, Lucia Annunziata loses patience, waves some papers from agencies and intervenes: «This can be done without surreptitiously closing something in the European Policies Commission of the Senate to get to the prohibition of transcription of birth certificates of already born children and prohibit surrogacy. Take responsibility for making these fucking laws…». Then she realizes that she has let herself get carried away by the heat and she apologizes: “Oh God, sorry, I apologize to the spectators”. Lucia Annunziata will apologize again to the minister and to the spectators for the exclamation, but the majority immediately goes on the attack. The vice president of the Senate Maurizio Gasparri of Forza Italia evokes spare parts: «It is a shame that such a person has public service spaces in his hands. The replacement season of the Rai top management becomes urgent because there is a constant abuse of which the Annunziata is only the most serious, most ancient, most partisan emblem. Enough is enough », he declares. “An ideological, prejudicial and prevaricating management”, comments the president of the Senate Culture Commission Federico Mollicone (FdI). The League takes a position with a note signed by the members of the party in the Rai Supervision Commission. «What happened today in Rai, during the broadcast Half an hour more, is unacceptable.
