Action-Italia alive, it’s total war: «More goodbyes to Calenda». But the denial arrives: «False» – Corriere.it

And now, in the saga of the breakup between Carlo Calenda and Matteo Renzi, between goodbyes to poison and mutual recriminations, the mini-split announced by some and denied by the others also appearsin an increasingly surreal climate.

The new chapter opens in mid-afternoon with a press release, signed by Roman secretariat of Action, announcing the farewell. “As managers and members of the former Azione Roma secretariat, we have decided to leave the party to wholeheartedly adhere to the project to build the Third Pole with Italia viva”. Following are the signatures of Noemi Scopelliti, former secretary of Azione Roma and delegate to the national assembly, Diego De Renzis, former deputy secretary and head of organization, Gianluca Fioravanti, councilor of Municipio XI and head of training, Rosanna Stanco, coordinator of the shadow council and the thematic tables , Luca Giacobbe, deputy secretary and head of Legal Affairs, Enrico Pagano, former communications manager of the city party secretariat, Luca Olivetti, former head of membership.

There are no prominent names or parliamentarians, but it is nonetheless a new landslide that follows in rapid succession those announced in recent days. It’s a pity that within an hour the most trusted men in Calenda send out the denials. «The communiqué of the “members of the Rome secretariat” it is a falsehood – do know sources of Action – . The signatories are not members of any governing body. They are the reference persons of the former secretary of Rome, Noemi Scopelliti, who lapsed in November 1922 due to the resignation of the majority of the Roman board which thus discouraged Scopelliti herself».

Then intervenes Francesco Carpano, city councilor of Rome and commissioner of Rome of Action. «No Rome in Action secretariat has passed to Italia viva because Action in Rome is governed by a Commissioner for which I am responsible. It’s fake news.” Calenda’s party feels under siege, the moves to Italy alive are the sign that the break with Renzi has marked a point of no return, beyond the parliamentary or electoral technicalities that could see the former allies still living together.

The jab at Italia viva starts from Azione, taking a cue from the Roman exponents who announced their farewell: «They were members of a false secretariat and were disheartened regardless of Iv and the Third Pole. We know that Italia viva is not familiar with congressional bodies having never held a congress since its foundation, but with a view to kind collaboration we are always ready to offer advice on the matter”.

Whether they are managers or not, the Renzians are relatively interested. It is more important, in the current shopping campaign, to increase one’s staff. It’s up to the former minister Maria Elena Boschi to welcome the new arrivals: «Happy for the arrival in Italy alive of the friends of Action who had won the Roman congress and who had then been placed under police stations. We will work well together for a true reformist project». Renzi’s strategy is very clear. It is based on a war of attrition that also exploits the new “journalist” role of the Tuscan leader. An emblematic title appeared on the Reformist directed by the former Prime Minister: “Action loses attraction.” And the new releases, more than the assumed or real roles they filled, reinforce the concept.
