It will not be an easy Direction, today’s one, for Elly Schlein. The appointment was preceded by the controversy over the case of Piero De Luca and that of Paolo Ciani. And last week Stefano Bonaccini, while reiterating that he did not want to give life to a current, decided to structure his own area to make reformist demands weigh more heavily on the Democratic Party. In recent days also by supporters of the joint secretary some critical remarks: Nicola Zingaretti has called for the creation of an agenda for the Democratic Party, which, in his opinion, is still lacking. And the arrival of Article 1 within the Democratic Party, greeted by the leader as a family reunion, does not make things easier since a part of the party fears that with the arrival of Pier Luigi Bersani And Robert Hope the dems move further to the left.

Today several big names should take the floor in the Directorate, because although it is by no means redde rationem, a clarification in the party is increasingly necessary. The secretary is therefore preparing her counter-moves. Yesterday he thought of having her loyalists intervene immediately after her report, as if to put up a sort of barrier between her and her criticisms, veiled or not, which will certainly come. Schlein, to get out of the corner, then intends to throw a great mobilization of the Democratic Party in the country on some key topics: minimum wage, public health, differentiated autonomy, high rents. On some of these issues (the minimum wage, for example) she is convinced that we can find points in common with other oppositions.

The leader then intends to embark on a tour of the Italy of inequalities. To prevent the remark that is made from many quarters about the lack of collegiality of her management, the secretary will try to reassure all the different souls of the party: It will continue to preserve pluralism, its mantra. But Schlein also wants the dem to recognize that she was elected on a clear mandate and therefore, she explained to her interlocutors in recent days, I will continue the program with which I presented myself in the primaries.
