Yet another tragedy at Tourist TrophyatIsle of Man. The Spanish centaur Raul Torras Martinez, 46 years old, died in an accident during the first race Supertwin TT of the week, the fourth of 10 races taking place on the island this week. The collision took place in the third lap. Torras had set his fastest time during the race Superstock.

On this track Torres stood participating for the fifth time in career. he had also competed at the North West 200, the Ulster Grand Prix and the Macau Grand Prix. The organization paid tribute to Raul with a post on social media: with great sadness that Isle of Man TT Races can confirm the loss of Raul Torras Martinez following a crash on the last lap of the first Supertwin Race of the Isle of Man TT Races 2023. Raul’s smile was contagious and his love for the TT and the sport of road racing was evident to anyone lucky enough to meet him.

Torras Martinez thus becomes there 267 TT casualty since 1907, year of the first edition. Six riders died last year, three in the first five days and three more on the final weekend, including father and son Roger and Bradley Stockton in the sidecar race.
