Marella Caracciolo had 8 bank accounts with a total credit balance of 6.6 million Swiss francs (the exchange rate with the euro is currently at par) but 95% of the liquidity was in just two accounts at Credit Suisse. The Swiss properties are those known but the market value indicated in the inventory was not known: the villa Chesa Alkyone intended for John Elkann (39.3 million), Cheza Medzi for Lapo (16.8 million) and the house of Lauenen for Geneva (11 million). Total real estate, including land, is 67.1 million.
Paintings and jewels
The category works of art-paintings-jewelry is a significant component of the hereditary mass because it reaches the figure of 54 million. The notary von Grnigen writes that in the Chesa Alcyon villa there are paintings and other valuable assets for 24 million, in Marrakech for 2.8 million in Villar Perosa for 1.5 while the item Jewels of Donna Marella Caracciolo reads the figure of 1 .3 million, for a total at the date of death of 54 million. All in all, the furniture in the houses is of modest value, only 1.5 million.
The professional’s accounts also include 33 million receivables from his daughter but, on the contrary, 98 million are recorded – at the formal request of Margherita’s lawyers – “as a memorandum item” in liabilities, i.e. payments made over the years by Margherita herself in favor of the mother on the basis of the inheritance agreements of 2004. Those same agreements that Margherita considers null and void. Therefore the assets left by Marella Caracciolo to the three grandchildren, according to the inventory signed by von Grnigen, amount to approximately 160 million, Panda included.
