Again according to the report, by 2030 at least 5 million barrels of crude oil will be cut and the atmosphere will not be asphyxiated by 700 mega-tons of carbon dioxide produced by fossil fuels. Global spending on electric vehicles (including buses and trucks) exceeded $425 billion in 2022, more than 50% more than in 2021.

Consumers choose the electric car

A result determined by government subsidies? Not at all, bonuses accounted for only 10% of decisions. The rest, or 90%, was a free and convinced choice by consumers who, moreover, continue to declare themselves satisfied with their purchases. And so far so good for the West. But the horizon in pink becomes very gray when forecasts concern market players. China stands out in first place (60% of world market share in 2022) while the United States and Europe have to be satisfied with the remaining 40% even if the forecasts are for more than positive increases especially in the United States and Northern Europe where they are emerging gigafactories and research centers for the production of new and more performing batteries.
