The Zecchino d’Oro is back with a special Christmas airing. The historic singing festival for children, now in its 65th edition, will be broadcast on Thursday 22 December and Friday 23 December at 17.05 (conducted by Francesca Fialdini and Paolo Conticini) and Saturday 24 December at 17.00 (host will be the artistic director of the Zecchino , Carlo Conti), on Rai 1 to Rai Italia. We will see 14 songs as protagonists – including one written by Luca Medici, alias Checco Zalone – interpreted by 17 little singers from 11 different Italian regions together with the Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano directed by Sabrina Simoni. Over the years many children have taken turns on the historic stage of the Antoniano in Bologna. The fate of the little interpreter of the third-placed song in the 1968 edition is known: Cristina D’Avena, who at the age of three and a half enchanted viewers with Il valzer del moscerino, who became the queen of cartoon theme songs. Even other very young singers have continued to make music, while there are those who – despite their success – have chosen other paths: here are their stories.
