The Italians on the pitch today
Three will be the first to take the field, at 12: on field n. 5 will be there Elizabeth Cocciaretto (n. 43) who will face the Colombian Camila Osorio (n. 71). On field no. 6 instead, it will be a Lucrezia Stefanini (n. 110), coming from the qualifiers, who will face the Estonian Anett Kontaveit, n. 81. On the field n. 11, however, will make its long-awaited debut Lucia Bronzetti (n. 47), who will challenge the Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, n. 133. An hour later, around 2.45 pm, however, it will be the turn of Sara Errani (n. 79) that, on field n. 7, will attempt a difficult comeback against US Madison Brengle (#114) who is ahead 6-3, 3-0. Around 4pm Lorenzo Sonego (#42) and Matthew Berrettini (n. 38) will face each other on field n. 12, to continue the derby interrupted by rain on Tuesday after the tie-break success (7-6) of the Turin player in the first set. A few minutes later, at 16.45 (fourth match on field n. 4), he will enter the scene Matthew Arnaldi (n. 80), back from brilliant qualifiers, who has a match against the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (n. 57) within reach. On field no. 1 (third match) will meet again, for their second round match, Jannick Sinner (n. 8) who will ask for the way to the Argentine Diego Schwartzman (n. 98), always beaten in 3 precedents. Finally, lastly (fifth meeting on field n. 18), around 7.15 pm, it will be up to Lorenzo Musetti (n. 16) who will face the Spaniard Jaime Munar (n. 109) with whom he has always lost the previous 3 challenges, all played on clay.
