Sinner-Djokovic, the precedents
Djokovic hasn't lost at Central for 10 years, or since the final knockout against Andy Murray in 2013, and a total of 33 games at Wimbledon: the last knockout came in 2017 when, against the Czech Tomas Berdych, he was forced to retire due to a problem to the forearm while trailing 7-6, 2-0. Sinner last year, right on the Central, in the quarterfinals, came very close to the feat: ahead by two sets, he ended up losing 5-7, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to the greater experience of his rival . Djokovic had instead imposed himself much more easily (6-4, 6-2) in the first previous one, at the Masters 1000 in Montecarlo 2021.
