“Wake me up at midnight” by Patierno and Fuani Marino nominated for the Davids

There is also “Wake me up at midnight”, the documentary film by Francesco Patierno with the writer Fuani Marino (produced by Luce Cinecitt in collaboration with Rai Cinema and distributed by Luce Cinecitt) among the ten works competing for the David di Donatello Award – Cecilia Mangini 2023 for best documentary. The announcement of the nominations was made by Piera Detassis, president and artistic director of the Italian Cinema Academy. “Wake me up at midnight”, freely based on the book of the same name by Fuani Marino published by Giulio Einaudi Editore, was presented in the Italian documentary competition of the 40th Turin Film Festival and will soon be released in cinemas with Luce Cinecitt. The film tells the true story of Fuani Marino, who survived a suicide attempt to find an unexpected resurrection that brings hope with it.
