Vuelta, the route presented: many climbs, few time trials, dates moved forward from the World Championship

Scheduled from August 26 to September 17, the Vuelta a España, the third grand tour of the season, will offer a total route of 3153.8 km, with no less than 13 medium and high mountain stages, plus two flat stages with an uphill finish (a total of 9 finish lines at the top of an ascent) . Two instead the time trials, with the opening team time trial in Barcelona (14 km) and a second day in Valladolid, in the tenth stage (25 km). Four flat stages, final arrival in Madrid. A Vuelta, therefore, in the wake of tradition: many, many climbs. Compared to usual, only the dates change: the start is postponed due to the World, exceptionally returned in August (the elite race will even take place on the 6th, in Glasgow, on a flat course). There Vuelta will also cross over to Andorra and especially in Francein the thirteenth stage, when he will climb the Col du Tourmalet after having climbed Portalet, Aubisque, Soulor and Spandelles, the climb discovered by the 2022 Tour in which Vingegaard and Pogacar gave life to an unforgettable duel, especially on the descent. We will also return to the top of Angliru. The reigning champion of the Vuelta is Remco Evenepoel.
