Viva Zelensky in Sanremo, provided that the song is unpublished. Ready to appeal

It is clear that the attacks on Zelensky’s participation in San Remo are hypocritical, instrumental and in bad faith from the fact that those who criticize him have not yet even heard the song. In fact, Amadeus has accepted the Ukrainian leader as a super foreign guest on the final evening of the Festival on condition that Zelensky sings an unreleased song, still unheard of in any of the other media ceremonies where he has already appeared in the last year. The most absolute secrecy therefore applies to what Zelensky will sing; but the collaboration between the Ukrainian president and Shakira seems certain. In fact, the singer has been approached by Ukrainian intelligence in recent weeks. Zelensky was very impressed by the song that Shakira “dedicated” to her ex, now also viral on TikTok; and he believes he has a lot in common with the pop star: his feelings for Putin are the same as Shakira’s for Piqué. So a collaboration was born between the two: at the moment a duet seems excluded, but the South American pop star’s hand is certainly there in the lyrics of the song. The verses addressed to Putin and which refer to the old Russian armaments are unmistakably hers: “You have mistaken a Twingo for a tank / a Casio for an atomic bomb”.

Our local pro-Putinian politics have already sided against Zelensky; but there is another front against the participation of the Ukrainian leader in the event: the one opened by the record companies. The singers in the competition fear there could also be a “Eurovision effect” at the Ariston as happened in Turin less than a year ago when, on the emotional wave dictated by the war, Ukraine won the famous European song contest. “The president is not in the race,” Zelensky’s entourage keeps repeating; but there are many singers who fear a ploy at the last minute, a codicil written in small print in the regulation, or directly an intervention by Minister Crosetto to Amadeus. The Modàs and the Country Cousins ​​have already heard the Codacons; the singer Ultimo, who in the past was very controversial for his second place under Mahmood, let it be known that he would not tolerate a second whammy.

But what worries the Festival most is the Russian reaction to the Ukrainian leader’s intervention: Putin threatens the use of the atomic bomb on the Ariston during the final, before the winner is announced. It would be a very serious act, which would certainly damage the ratings of Amadeus IV. We are running for cover: Rai has announced that the orchestra pit will be used as a bunker and, in the event of a nuclear attack, everyone will go down there (women and singers first) and the live broadcast will continue worldwide. The singers who abandon the competition out of fear will be accused of desertion and high treason; the show must go on, they let Rai1 know. Meanwhile, Sanremo diplomacy is working to avert an escalation (already this year there is Mediaset’s counter-programming, we also missed the Putin offensive at the Festival): Al Bano spoke on the phone with Lavrov (confidential conversation), while Toto Cutugno offered himself as mediator.
