Vialli, the memory of Ferrara in an old ticket: “I’m about to turn 28 again, but without you it hurts”

“Within a few days I’ll turn 28 for the second time. But can’t it work, so to say, that in a few days you too will come back to perculate me like you always did? Otherwise it’s hard, otherwise it hurts too much”. This is the thought that Ciro Ferrara addressed to Guanluca Vialli on twitter. And he did so by posting the photo of the greeting card that his teammate in many battles in Juve and in the national team wrote to him on a note from a hotel where the black and whites were in retreat back in 1995. It was in Bari, and the black and whites won 2-0 with goals from Del Piero and Ferrara. Vialli addresses Ferrara with rhyming phrases, which mock him but which reflect the affection and friendship between the two.

Ferrara was among the many who reminded Cremona of Gianluca Vialli. Together with him, many of the former teammates of the deceased champion: among others, the former Juventus manager Roberto Bettega and the current president of Sampdoria Marco Lanna. “My first thought goes to Gianluca’s family. They were really very hard days for everyone, but Gianluca would certainly have wanted a cheerful ceremony as has always been in his spirit”, said Ferrara. “Many episodes come to mind. We spent a lot of time together. As opponents we ‘beat’ each other enough, as teammates in the national team and with Juventus we have many beautiful and pleasant memories.
