Not later than six days ago on Instagram Edwin posed with his wife as a testimonial: I ask for attention and understanding for all those who have to live daily with the impact of a brain disorder and its often invisible consequences.

On Friday, Edwin van der Sar has had a bleeding around his brain. He’s currently in hospital in the intensive care unit and is in a stable condition.
