“Uncle Scrooge is offline”, cancel culture knows no brakes

Disney had already gone so far as to remove Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, The Robinson Family, The Aristocats and The Jungle Book from the child profile on Disney+. If one wants to watch them, he has to use an adult profile. “This program includes negative representations and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now.” The old cartoons are racist, homophobic, sexist… Now it’s the turn of one of the most loved characters in the history of Disney, Scrooge McDuck (Uncle Scrooge). Disney banned two of Don Rosa’s Uncle Scrooge stories from future reprints and compilations. The cartoonist received a message from Disney announcing that two Scrooge McDuck stories – “The Richest Duck in the World” and “The Dream of a Lifetime” – will no longer be republished: “As part of his ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, The Walt Disney Company is reviewing its library”, reads the message sent to Don Rosa, which he shared in a group dedicated to fans of his stories. “As a result, some stories that are not in line with our values ​​will no longer be published. This applies to two of your classic stories, which will not be part of any reprints or new collections.”
