almost everything is ready for the Tre Golfi Sailing Week and for the European Maxi Championship scheduled from 12 to 21 May with the Sorrento Peninsula as the protagonist. Three appointments, as many cities, and already 17 registered in the European Maxi Championship, hulls of twenty meters or more that enchant as they go to sea. Sorrento is preparing to set sail, also for this 2023, with the Tre Golfi Sailing Week, and its load of novelties, which aims to renew the successes achieved during the previous edition, commented the mayor of Sorrento Massimo Coppola.

Combination of inshore and coastal racing

The 2023 edition of the Tre Golfi Sailing Week includes a combination of inshore and coastal regattas, including the historic Tre Golfi Regatta now in its 68th edition which will mark the beginning of the event with the scheduled departure at 5pm on Friday 12 May from Naples, opposite the Castel dell’Ovo and the CRV Italia headquarters in the small port of Santa Lucia. After the arrival of the Three Gulfs Regatta, the fleet of participants will find mooring in the ports of the Sorrento peninsula. Here the biggest boats will compete for the second edition of the European Maxi Championship.

The expectation of the host cities

The Tre Golfi Sailing Week, a high-level competition, also takes on a special value in terms of tourism because it will allow all guests to be shown the excellence and unique beauties of our land, said Salvatore Cappiello, Mayor of Piano di Sorrento. From Friday 19 to Sunday 21, boats with ORC rating will compete in the Mediterranean Championship, also valid as the National Championship of the Middle and Lower Tyrrhenian Sea. An honor to host the excellence of world sailing in our city, commented Peppe Aiello, mayor of Vico Equense.
