Tour de France, yellow jersey to Adam Yates who beats his twin

PARIS. Adam Yates is the first yellow jersey of the 2023 Tour de France. The Briton beat his twin brother Simon Yates (Team Jayco-AlUla) in a two-man sprint to win the first stage of the 2023 Tour de France, the Bilbao-Bilbao by 182 kilometres. Third place went to Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, his teammate and captain of UAE Team Emirates.
Sparks started already in the first stage, on the three climbs of the day the Slovenian rider and the reigning champion, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), immediately battled it out: the Cote de Pike was decisive, roughness with a maximum gradient of 15% which immediately split the group and in which the two found themselves at the finish line of the GPM together with Lafay (Cofidis).
