PARIS —It is the day of the party. The Tour de France reaches the destination, Paris, with the classic catwalk and the prestigious arrival for sprinters. Next year, to coincide with the Olympic Games, the last stage will move to Nice and the Tour will return to closing with a time trial, as has not happened since 1989.

Today the group from Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, where the Olympic velodrome stands. The race will approach the capital via the Palace of Versailles. Before entering the city, however, there will be one last gpm to tackle, the Côte du Pavé des Gardes (1.3 km at 6.5%).

Soon after, the riders will arrive in Paris via the Quai d’Issy area. After passing through the Louvre, there is the official entrance to the final circuit, the classic one, which measures 6.8km. Classic conclusion a few steps from the Arc de Triomphe, in the evening.
