CHATILLON SUR CHALARONNE – The high mountain trifecta that closes the second week of the Tour opens with the third finish at high altitude. The stage will thus be a very long preparation for the final climb towards the Grand Colombier, 17.4 km with an average gradient of 7.1%, but very irregular: after a first part of 7 km above 8-9% (and peak of 12%), 2000 pedalable meters will follow before a new stretch of 4 km hard meters, with gradients almost always above 8%. Finally the last 3700 metres, a little less demanding, with the exception of a final ramp at 10%.
