The third stage of the Tour de France sees the victory of the Belgian Jasper Philipsen, fastest of all in the sprint

When you have a star player like Mathieu Van Der Poel who sacrifices himself for you and shoots you, you have no right to make mistakes. AND Jasper Philipsen25 years old, Belgian, made no mistakes and with a textbook last kilometer he took home the first sprint of the Tour de France 110, the one scheduled in the third stage which brought the group back to France, to Bayonne, in New Aquitaine. Piloted to perfection by the sublime Mathieu as a wingman, Philipsen (third success at the Grande Boucle after the one-two in 2022 to add to the three victories at the Vuelta) beat the German Bauhaus and the Australian Ewan.

Further behind Jakobsen, Van Aert who got up in the last 50 meters and the old man Cavendish who is in the dress rehearsal to become the man with the most victories in the French race of all time. Best Italian Luca Mozzato12th, in a stage without particular emotions but as always with a huge crowd on the side of the road. Nothing unchanged in the general standings where Adam Yates is in the yellow jersey with a 6” lead over Pogacar and on the twin Simon Yates, 12” on the surprising Frenchman Victor Lafay and 16” on Van Aert.
