Tirreno-Adriatico, Roglic rows in the wind and wins uphill at Sassotetto

Still Roglicbut what a struggle for the Slovenian on the Sarnano-Sassotetto climb, at the end of the fifth stage of the Tyrrhenian–Adriatic. A 10 km long grind, all raced cautiously by the captain of the Jumbo-Visma, never active in the big group that played the queen stage of the Corsa dei due mari, 10.7 km of ascent instead of 13 due to the very strong wind at the top. At the finish the best were almost twenty and Roglic, with his proverbial uphill sprint, skewered them all. It was mainly the Bahrain Victorious with which to move Damian Caruso, attacking from -4 km for himself and above all for Captain Mikel Landa, but stopped by the impetuous wind that beat the Marche Apennines. Once the Sicilian was taken back, the tussle began and in the end Roglic won, the new general leader thanks to the bonus, on Julius Ciccone and Tao Geoghegan Hart. The Slovenian, who also won the fourth stage, in Tortoreto, is the new leader of the general classification with 4″ on Kämna and 12″ on Almeida. After the scare of the previous day, when at the end of the stage a car from behind had almost run over him, Ciccone is 9th at 24″. The sixth stage on Saturday, very complicated, on the Marche walls, with arrival in Osimo. Then on Sunday the great final of the Tirreno with the probable sprint of San Benedetto del Tronto.
