Come back there Vialli Foundation and Mauro Golf Cup, charity competition now in its eighteenth edition, organized by the homonymous non-profit organization. The date is set forMay 8th: professionals, celebrities and amateurs will be together again on the green to raise funds for the Research on ALS – Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Never before has the objective of the event been to look ahead, continuing to support Research with energy and enthusiasm, thanks also to the precious contribution of collaborators and partners who have been supporting this initiative for eighteen years.

“We believe in it today more than ever, that’s why we won’t stop. We owe it to Luca, to ourselves and to our supporters. To put it to Vialli: “If you dream alone it’s just a dream, if you dream together it’s the reality that begins” (Yoko Ono) – comments Massimo Mauro -. For 18 years we have dedicated ourselves with passion and commitment to the organization of the Vialli and Mauro Golf Cup Foundation, born thanks to an idea shared with our friends and supporters Peppo and Antonella Canonica, a path that slowly involves many players in teamwork who, with their support, contribute to the realization of a special day allowing us to carry on our ambitious project: to defeat ALS. When we started in 2004, we wanted to win a game that would be much better than any football game, that is, to help arrive at a drug for ALS patients, who today have no hope, because ALS is a disease that he cares”.

DP World Tour professionals, entrepreneurs and friends from the world of sport and entertainment will meet together at the Barlassina Country Club in Lentate sul Seveso (MB). Between these Michel Platini, Andriy Shevchenko, Gianfranco Zola, Atilius Lombard. Among the Pros who will participate, Jorge Campillo, winner of the Kenya Open and no. 9 in the Race to Dubai rankings, Matthew BaldwinSDC Championship winner, Rafael Cabrera Bellofour times winner of the DP World Tour and Honorary Golf Board Member of the Vialli and Mauro Golf Cup Foundation, Stephen Gallacheralso for him four victories in the DP World Tour and Junior Ryder Cup Captain.

The charity objective of the event will be, as mentioned, the ALS research funding. Specifically, the funds raised will be donated to AriSLA – the Italian Research Foundation for ALS. To date, the Vialli and Mauro Foundation has donated over 4,000,000 euros to Research. RF Celada SpA and ERG SpA – excellences of the Italian business world strongly committed to the country’s sustainable growth – this year too they will be Presenting Partners of the event, thus confirming in an even more significant way its support for the Foundation and, in particular, its adherence to the objectives of the initiative. NORQAIN Italy srl SBa new brand on the Italian market of Swiss Made mechanical watches, is the new entry as Official Partner of the Golf Cup.

Guido Celada, CEO RF Celada SpA: “The sporting event in which we have been participating for years now, thanks to the Vialli and Mauro Foundation, is an extraordinary appointment for Celada. This edition is even more special because it allows us to continue sharing with Gianluca, not only the passion for this sport, but, above all, the closeness to friends who share the same goal: to ensure that the Foundation wins. Once again we will compete on the green with that spirit that Gianluca summed up well in one of his statements: ” The important thing is not to win; it’s winning thinking. That’s how you can face life.”

Edward GarroneChairman of ERG SpA: “Once again this year ERG is supporting the Vialli and Mauro Golf Cup, a support that has lasted since the first edition. This is because we are increasingly convinced that research represents the only viable way to combat ALS but also to spreading knowledge and awareness about this disease, restoring hope to those affected by it. Unfortunately, this edition will be very different from the previous ones. Gianluca Vialli will not be with us. We will miss his humanity, his kindness, his witticisms, his elegance , his determination, his sympathy, his friendship. It was Gianluca who convinced me many years ago to financially support the Vialli and Mauro Foundation for ALS and he did so with his usual ability to put his friends together for a dream: to give a hope of life to people affected by a terrible disease”.
