The UN Objectives of the 2030 Agency: presentation of the 3rd ASviS Report on the sustainability of the Territories

ROME – The document that measures the progress of local authorities with respect to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goalsthe so-called Agenda 2030 reporting data, good practices and proposals. Among the participants in the meeting the mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella. The presentation is held today, Tuesday 6 December, at the Parlamentino of Villa Lubin – seat of the National council of economy and labour (Cnel) – in Rome. It’s about the ASviS Territorial Report 2022. The document includes a review of international and European experiences of territorialisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of theUN Agenda 2030 and the state of implementation of the National Strategy, the Regional Strategies and the Metropolitan Agendas for Sustainable Development.

The chapter dedicated to inequalities. It is a unique tool which, through elementary and composite statistical indicators, collects and analyzes the positioning of regions, provinces, metropolitan cities, urban areas and municipalities with respect to the 17 SDGs. To understand the importance of territories, just think that the Sustainable development solutions network (Sdsn) estimates that 105 of the 169 SDGs Targets (62%) will not be achieved without the involvement of local authorities. The study, which reports data broken down by Region with data relating to Provinces and metropolitan cities included, also devotes a chapter to territorial inequalities and one to natural and man-made risks. Finally, the concluding chapters contain the ASviS proposals and the selection of best practices for the sustainable development of Territories.

The many participants in the meeting. The meeting will be attended, among others, by representatives of local authorities, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.
