From 16 to 18 June, in Caorle (Venice), the second edition of “Call things by their name” will take place, a three-day meeting over the weekend organized by Tempi and the Municipality of Caorle to discuss politics, information and freedom. On stage, among others, Alfredo Mantovano, Massimo Gaggi, Federico Palmaroli (Osho) and Giovanni Maddalena. At the same time, the “Luigi Amicone” journalistic prize will be awarded, in memory of the founder and former director of the magazine. This year, the jury presided over by Giuliano Ferrara awarded the prize to the writer Susanna Tamaro (who on Saturday afternoon at 6 pm, in piazza Vescovado, will talk with the bishop emeritus of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla, mons. Massimo Camisasca) and to the writer and dissident Chinese Liao Yiwu, author of “Wuhan. The Documentary Novel”. For having publicly denounced the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989, he was forced into exile in Germany in 2011. Winner of numerous literary awards, he continues to recount the crimes perpetrated by the Beijing regime in his books.
