An old video from 2019 pops up in which, at a conference, the prosecutor Santoriello jokingly said: “I’m anti-Juventus, a huge fan of Napoli, I’m against robbery on the pitch and yet I had to write filings”. Minister Abodi: “I saw and reported”

«I support Napoli and I hate Juventus». As spoke, in June 2019, Ciro Santoriello, the public prosecutor of Turin who, together with his colleagues Mario Bendoni and Marco Gianoglio, is conducting the Prisma investigation into Juventus’ financial statements which led to the indictment of the former top management of the Juventus club and, from a sporting point of view, to the penalty of 15 points decided by the Federal Court of Appeal.

A video circulated on social media has sparked controversy and indignation among Juventus fans: it relates to a conference in June four years ago, held in Milan, on the subject of balance sheets and capital gains. From the images and the laughter in the background, a relaxed atmosphere is perceived, so much so that in another video a speaker jokes with Santoriello himself saying: “Let’s remain distant on the fact that you are Pm and I am a lawyer, you support Napoli and I support Inter”.

Santoriello, however, adds other considerations, even if the context is that of another joke expressed amid general laughter: «As president of a football club – he says – I’m not good if I make profits but if I win the championships at the same time. Sometimes, however, there is a relationship of incompatibility between the two things». Then on his football passions he says: «I don’t follow … Yes well I admit it, I’m a huge fan of Napoli and I hate Juventus. Napoli is important as a fan, as a public prosecutor… I’m an anti-Juventus supporter, against the larceny on the pitch, yet I had to write filings».

The storm on social media was immediately unleashed, with thousands of posts from Juventus fans, and in the end even the the Minister of Sport, Andrea Abodi, with a tweet: «I have seen, listened to and reported, in compliance with the roles, for the appropriate checks and evaluations. For now, I think it is correct that I stop here».
