Martin Heidegger’s thought is the perfect storm of contemporary philosophy. The great and controversial German philosopher was right about everything, except for one thing, no small matter: joining National Socialism in 1933. Already in ’34 he resigned as rector of the University of Freiburg. Some believe he continued to be a Nazi and, on top of that, an anti-Semite. I am convinced of the opposite: his entire philosophy contrasts with the principles of Nazism.
